James Branham
Student & Worship Pastor

James and Suzy Branham were born and raised in West Virginia.  After they married in 2006, they moved to Texas for 11 years. During their time in Texas, they were both on staff at a large non-denominational church. James served as their Student Pastor and was part of their worship ministry while Suzy served as church secretary for seven years.  During this time, they adopted five children, Sophia, Ryan, Glenda, Gabriel, and Emory.

Feeling God drawing them back to West Virginia, they moved home in 2018.  God’s plans are amazing and perfect. We are so glad God brought them home to be a part of our family.  James joined our family as our River Students Pastor in January of 2019 and now also serves as our Worship Pastor.  James and Suzy like to spend their spare time meeting with new and old friends and building community.

Jennifer & Jay McKay
Family Life Pastors

Jay and Jennifer McKay, along with their two children Whitney and Nate, reside in Hurricane. Originally from Augusta, Georgia, Jennifer was brought to West Virginia by her husband Jay who has lived here most of his life. Although Jennifer’s heart is in the South, the direction of the Lord’s calling and leading was very clear. Previously being Pastors for eight years in Hamlin, WV, they felt God calling them to be a part of the work he is doing at King’s River. Being in ministry for over twenty years, their positions have varied from youth pastors to worship leaders, but their main goal has always been to love God & love people. Jay and Jennifer serve King’s River as our Family Life Pastors. They have a heart to see everyone feel at home, find their place, and develop relationships with others. They also oversee our Life Groups which provide opportunities to share life together, grow closer to God, and develop genuine relationships.

Tim VanHoose
Middle School Pastor

Tim was born and raised in Huntington, West Virginia.  This young Pentecostal boy met a beautiful Catholic girl in 2005 while he spent a summer volunteering in Guatemala.  Leticia immigrated to the United States in 2009. They were married soon after, and God blessed them with two beautiful children.  Work and family caused them to move back to West Virginia in 2014, and the couple began attending King’s River.

Using this mixture of differing languages, cultures, and expressions of faith, God brought new revelation to the VanHoose family while hiding in the corner of the King’s River sanctuary.  Their Kingdom journey has brought them to a place of new identity where they simply want to be known as “Jesus followers” and where the greatest title that can be bestowed is the one of “servant.”

Tim and Leticia began serving in King’s River Kids’ Church in August 2018.  In the midst of COVID, the leading of the Spirit pushed them to develop a ministry targeting preteens and adolescents.  With the help of Amber Kimbro, this idea expanded, culminating in the formal creation of King’s River Middle School Ministry (MSM) where Tim, Lety, and Amber currently serve.

Pastor Ryan and Lisa served as the Lead Pastors at a local church in South Charleston, WV from 2016 to 2021. At the calling and leadership of the Holy Spirit, Pastor Ryan and Lisa joined the King's River family in October 2021 as our RiverKids Pastors. They are both very excited for all that God has planned in the lives of the next generation. They have a heart to nurture children in the love and foundation of Christ Jesus. The Kingdom of God is thrills, romance and adventure.
